Soumitra Bhattacharya is a communication designer with over 25 years of experience across branding, photography, film, and strategic design consulting. He founded Studio Firefly in Mumbai in 2003, driven by a desire to create design that is thoughtful, clear, and rooted in story.

He began his career as Art Director at TBWA India, followed by a leadership role as Design Manager at Human Factors International (USA). Since then, he has led a wide range of creative projects for clients across sectors—corporate, cultural, and social.

His portfolio includes work for Unilever, HDFC Ergo, Bharti AXA Life, Tata Motors, Sandoz, CRY, Save the Children, CARE, and Sense International. Whether it's a visual identity, editorial piece, campaign film, or photo story, Soumitra brings clarity, craft, and emotional depth to every project.

While design practice is his core, Soumitra has also taught design at leading institutions, contributing to programs that emphasize empathy, context, and hands-on learning.

He is currently based in Dehradun, where Studio Firefly continues to work at the intersection of strategy, visuals, and storytelling—building brands with meaning and design that lasts.
